You May Be Working From Home Or Be An Essential Worker, Working Longer Hours Onsite.
Regardless, We Are Here For You!!!
Prolonged sitting at a desk or computer terminal can cause muscular tension and pain. But, by taking a five or ten minute break to do a series of stretches, your whole body can feel better. It’s also helpful to learn to stretch spontaneously, throughout the day, stretching any particular area of the body that feels tense for a minute or two. This will help greatly in reducing and controlling unwanted tension and pain. (https://ehs.ucsc.edu/)
The exercises, in the link : Stop & Stretch are designed to counter the forward posture that we get into when working at the computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Evidence states that we should change our posture every hour.
- Use your technology ( phone alarms, iwatch, Fitbit, etc) to remind you to stop and stretch.
- Try to do a few of the stretches every hour.
